Related Pathological Research of Detecting Methylmalonic acid, Homocysteine and Vitamin B12 level By ELISA kit Methylmalonic acid, also called MMA, is formed by the breakdown of Methylmalonyl CoA. We could detect the MMA in the urine samples if the patient has the problem of Methylmalonyl CoA metabolism by lack vitamin B12 . Causes of Vitamin B12 deficiency 1.Decreased intake by losing weight or diabetes 2. Stomach and small bowel disorders and related surgery 3. pernicious anemia by Autoimmune 4.Medication interaction (e.g. Metformin, medications that reduce stomach acidity) MMA concentrations in healthy people’ blood samples are between 73-271 nmol/L.So we could use MMA ELISA KIT quantitative determination of the MMA concentrations in plasma and urine. New research shows that 25-20% of patients over the age of 70 have high levels of MMA, but they do not have B12 deficiency. For this reason, MMA test is not recommended in the people over the age of 70. So we could use VB12 ELISA KIT and Hcy ELISA KIT quantitative determination of the VB12 , Hcy concentrations in plasma and urine. Copyright by Nova Lifetech Inc.
