pAAV-RC plasmid contains the AAV-2 rep and cap genes, encoding replication proteins and viral capsid structural proteins, respectively. Establishing the proper expression levels of rep and cap gene products is an important step in achieving high-titer virus production. pAAV-RC directs Rep and Cap expression from two different promoters, achieving optimal expression levels for each set of gene products.
